Hi, I am dual certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I combine my background and training in family and psychiatric care to offer a holistic approach that supports the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I earned my master’s degree with concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from the University of Miami in 2017. Later I earned a post -Master’s certification as a Psychiatric Nurse practitioner from Florida State University. I have over 15 years of experience in health care, and 8 of those years providing psychiatric care to individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, autism, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders.
I am driven to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges. By empowering their mental health I can strengthen the relationships between my patients and their families, breaking stigmas and improving the quality of life of the whole family.
I see each patient as a unique and valuable being. As a result, I provide a tailored treatment plan considering current stressors, medical history, prior treatment response, genetic makeup, and environmental challenges. As part of my holistic approach I utilize conventional psychiatry, alternatives such as natural supplements, and non-pharmaceutical therapies.

Dr. Medina has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of neuropsychiatry, basic & clinical neurosciences, as well as a principal investigator in clinical trials phase I through IV.
With a deep understanding of various specialties within psychiatry, including geriatric psychiatry, neuropsychiatric care, and psychopharmacology, Dr. Medina is well-equipped to diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions. His holistic approach involves a combination of medications and psychotherapy, meticulously tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, especially those in their golden years

Dr. Medina has served as Faculty member for prestigious institutions nationwide such as the University of Illinois in Chicago, Rush University Medical Center, and the University of California, Irvine. He also serves as preceptor for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate Programs in several Florida Universities such as Florida State University, University of Miami, and Florida Atlantic University, as well as multiple out of state nursing schools.
